  | Java Please my updated page at http://www.dougbunger.com. ********************   Headline: Java Programming is the Wave of the Future Heard that before? So have I, and, oddly enough, it seems to be true. The Bad News: Java is the most convoluted mess I have ever continued to attempt to understand. I mean, this stuff is out there... Way out there. I've had to add James Gosling (Java's creator) to the list of people that will get punched in the gut if they ever come to my house. Let's say you have a choice between learning Java, and gnawing off your left leg. Gnawing off your leg would be less painful, it would take less time, and when you were done, you'd at least be able to hop to the store to buy a bandage. So why would anyone learn Java? The Good News: As I have been studying Java, I have read specifications for many of the language's integrated sub-routines, known as method. The capabilities are staggering. With Java, you could write a program so immense, there would not be a machine that could run it. It has been ported for so many systems, there is no issue with compatibility. Furthermore, the nature of Java allows it to assimilate new technology, merely by creating a new API. Besides, I've gotten use to the abuse.
